Lafayette, California, 1997
From 1995 into early 2000s I worked with Olympus OM film cameras with their amazing Zuiko macro lenses, primarily 50mm f/2.0, 80mm f/4.0, 135mm f/4.5 with extension tubes, below to discover a different world. This world presented to me beauty, tranquility, inner peace. It was a blissful experience to visit the botanical gardens, orchards, parks in the San Francisco Bay Area where I learned to see and be happy with what I saw. No doubt the work was meditational.
I mostly used color slide films. For a while, I really enjoyed Kodak Lumiere film until the company discontinued it. With Lumiere's disappearance, Velvia became my primary slide film. The image above was made with Fuji Velvia 50 ASA film.
My work gradually evolved into B+W, first with Agfa Scala 200 slide film, than Kodak TMAX100 and darkroom printmaking.
